Grid Doctor vs Patriot Power Generator: Specs, Price, Returns

Neither one is the better buy for everyone. The Patriot Power units from 4Patriots are LiFePO4 battery stations that the seller says are fume-free and safe to run indoors, and the Grid Doctor 3300 is the solar generator sold by My Patriot Supply. The right pick depends on how many watts and watt-hours you need for the things you plan to run, so the figures below set each seller’s own pages side by side.

Patriot Power vs Grid Doctor: specs side by side

4Patriots lists three solar generators with product pages here. The table uses the figures on each 4Patriots page. The Grid Doctor 3300 has its own section below.

Three details need a check at checkout. The 2200X page shows $2,999 for the Generator Only option, but the comparison blocks on the 1200 and AlphaCase pages show the 2200X & Solar Panel at $3,199 next to $3,499. The 4Patriots site banner reads “2200X + 2 FREE Panels” with a Claim link, yet the 2200X page lists its 200-watt panel as a $499.00 item and its included items as the unit, a wall cord and the manual. The 2200X page also gives both a one-hour charge to 80% and a 1.8-hour AC charge time, so plan around the figure that fits your use. Ask 4Patriots what the Claim offer includes before you order.

What 4Patriots says each model is built for

Patriot Power 2200X. The seller says it is “not designed to run your whole house.” It stores 2,240 Wh, can be expanded to 6,720 Wh with up to two expansion batteries, and has a 4,400 W peak for high-draw tools.

Patriot Power 1200. The seller calls it “Mid-Size Backup That’s Easy to Carry.” It weighs 28 lbs, stores 1,030 Wh and says it runs a fridge, TV and CPAP.

AlphaCase Elite. The seller describes it as a briefcase generator with 736 Wh, 800 W continuous output and a folding solar panel included. Its page says the briefcase holds the gear inside.

This site also has a review of the Grid Doctor 3300, covered in its own section below.

How long will a solar generator run a refrigerator?

The 2200X page says it “cycles a full-size fridge for 75 hours” on one charge, and its appliance table lists a 120 W refrigerator at 75 hrs cycling. The AlphaCase page says it “cycles your fridge for 25 hours.” The 1200 page says it “keeps a full-size fridge cold for 34 hours*” and lists a 120 W refrigerator at 34 hrs cycling.

You can check these numbers with plain arithmetic: watt-hours divided by the appliance’s watts gives a rough upper bound on hours, before inverter losses. For a 120 W fridge, 2,240 Wh is about 18.7 hours of continuous running, and 736 Wh is about 6.1 hours. The seller’s higher figures are for cycling, meaning the fridge switches on and off rather than running nonstop. The label on your own fridge gives its wattage, and that number decides the result.

For food, the 2200X FAQ cites CDC guidance that a closed fridge keeps food safe for about 4 hours and a full freezer about 48 hours. For more on food safety in an outage, see Pennsylvania’s power outage guidance and Oregon’s winter outage guidance. For more on fridge runtime, read can a 1000 watt generator run a refrigerator.

Are solar generators worth it compared with a gas generator?

For indoor backup, the main difference is safety. The CPSC winter storm carbon monoxide tips say gasoline portable generators can kill with carbon monoxide in minutes and must run outside, at least 20 feet from the house. The 2200X page says the unit “requires no gas and creates zero exhaust,” and the 1200 page says it is fume-free and safe to run indoors.

Solar recharging is slower than a wall outlet. The Department of Energy solar output guidance says panel output depends on location, weather and orientation, and that a panel’s rated watts are a peak under standard test conditions, not steady all-day output. The seller figures above (12 to 18 hours on one panel) reflect that gap.

What does each Grid Doctor and Patriot Power unit cost?

Prices as of October 28, 2026; check the checkout for today’s. The seller pages list $2,999 for the 2200X Generator Only, and $1,299 for both the 1200 and the AlphaCase Elite. The 2200X expansion pack lists at $1,299.00. Dividing price by watt-hours gives about $1.26 per Wh for the 1200, $1.34 for the 2200X and $1.76 for the AlphaCase. The 2200X costs $1,700 more than the AlphaCase and stores about three times as much energy. The 1200 page shows a Join Waitlist button, and the AlphaCase page shows a Notify Me button, so check availability before you plan around a unit. The 2200X page says it “Ships late September from Georgia, USA.”

How do refunds, warranty and support work?

The 1200 page says “Satisfaction Promise: Try it risk free for 90 days.” The 2200X, 1200 and AlphaCase pages each show “100% Satisfaction Guaranteed” and “USA-Based Customer Support.” Ask 4Patriots for the return window and the warranty length for the exact model you choose, in writing, before you pay.

How do Patriot Power units compare with Jackery, Anker and BLUETTI?

Protocol Survival’s review of 4Patriots says well-established brands like Jackery, Anker and BLUETTI “often offer higher power outputs, faster solar charging, and lower price-per-watt-hour metrics.” To answer “Which is better, Jackery or Patriot?” for your own needs, put the same numbers side by side: watt-hours, continuous watts, solar input and price per watt-hour. For a clear breakdown of what a power station does compared with a generator, read portable power station vs generator.

Which solar generator fits my home, cabin or camping trip?

No single unit is the best for every job. Match the model to your load:

  • Light, portable backup: the 1200, at 28 lbs and 1,030 Wh.
  • Longest runs and high-draw tools: the 2200X, at 2,240 Wh and 2,200 W continuous.
  • Briefcase form with a panel inside: the AlphaCase Elite, at 736 Wh and 800 W.
  • Grid Doctor 3300: compare its product page against the same list.

For off-grid use, the 2200X page says you can “link up to two expansion batteries to get a total of 6,720 Wh of storage.” Whether an off-grid or grid-tied setup suits you is covered in comparing off-grid vs grid-tied solar power systems.

Are these safe indoors, and have any power stations been recalled?

The NFPA publishes lithium-ion battery safety guidance.

CPSC recall notices name several power stations: the CPSC Goal Zero YETI 3000X recall (about 46,200 units, fire and burn hazard, repair remedy), the CPSC EcoFlow Delta Max 2000 recall (repair by firmware update), the CPSC HALO 1000 recall (one death reported), and CPSC Aeiusny warning for units sold on Amazon. Check the CPSC recall notices for the exact model number before you buy.

Before you order

  • Confirm the price and the box contents at checkout, including what the 2200X “2 FREE Panels” banner covers.
  • Get the warranty length and return window in writing for the model you pick.
  • Check the ship date; the 2200X page says it “Ships late September from Georgia, USA.”
  • Match watt-hours and continuous watts to your list, using each appliance’s wattage from its label.
  • Read the spec sheet in the cart against the user manual, since Protocol Survival’s review notes that some 4Patriots pages mix details from the 2200X and 2500X.
  • Search the CPSC recall list for the model before you pay.
