Amazon Dash Buttons Review – Easily Reorder Brand Name Products?

Amazon Dash Buttons Review

Amazon Dash Buttons are small devices with a single button. You can press that button whenever you want to order something new. Find out everything you need to know about Amazon Dash Buttons today in our review.

What Are Amazon Dash Buttons?

Amazon Dash Buttons are small devices that make it easy to shop online. Any time you want to order something new, you just press the button on the Amazon Dash Button. Amazon gets your order and then ships a new supply of that product to your house.

The buttons are typically used to simplify housekeeping chores: some of the most popular Amazon Dash Buttons, for example, are for laundry detergents and toilet paper.

The idea behind Amazon Dash Buttons is that you place them in storage areas of your home. When you go to grab the last package of a certain item – like toilet paper or paper towel – you press that button to order a new shipment.

The buttons are priced at $4.99 each. After you press the button the first time, you’ll get a $4.99 credit on your purchase – so it’s kind of free, if you look at it from that perspective.

Today, over 100 brands have partnered with Amazon through their Dash Buttons. Popular product categories include gum, energy drinks, baby formulas, personal hygiene items, and pet care products.

The Amazon Dash Buttons are available exclusively to members of Amazon Prime.

How Do the Amazon Dash Buttons Work?

The Amazon Dash Button is a Wi-Fi connected device. Each button is paired with a product of your choice. Every time you press the button on the device, it sends a signal over the internet telling Amazon to send you a new supply of that particular item.

The Dash Button is managed and setup through the Amazon App on your Android or iPhone. It works anywhere there’s a Wi-Fi signal.

Once the setup process is complete, your smartphone will receive a notification every time an order is placed. You can also turn off notifications if you don’t want to receive individual alerts for each successful button press.

If you want extra protection for your account, then you can setup a feature called Order Protection. With that setting, Dash Button will not place a new order until the previous order is delivered – so you won’t suddenly end up with 12 packages of toilet paper on your doorstep one day because you didn’t think the button was working. This setting also sends you an order notification every time an order is received, and you can cancel an order from within your app.

In terms of placement, you can stick the Dash Button anywhere: it comes with a removable hook and a reusable adhesive. So you can hook it on the wall, stick it to the top of your washing machine, or leave it in your pantry.

After pressing the button, the light beside the button will turn green (if the order was successful) or red (if the order was unsuccessful).

Yes, There is a Customizable Amazon Dash Button

One restriction with the Amazon Dash Buttons is that each Dash Button only has one job: to order more of that one specific product. You can’t use your paper towel dash button to order more baby diapers, for example.

But Amazon has released a customizable Dash Button. That Dash Button was launched on May 13, 2016 and it sold out in just a few hours. By the end of the day, no more customizable Dash Buttons were available.

That customizable Dash Button was officially called the AWS IoT Button (Amazon Web Services Internet of Things Button).

Amazon calls the product a “limited release” item. You can code it however you want. You can even use it as a remote control for Netflix or to control your smart lights. Amazon even says you can use it to order your favorite pizza for delivery or for AirBnB guests to check in and check out – the potential is endless.

The product is listed as “Currently Unavailable” from the Amazon online store. However, you can stay tuned to that product listing to learn when it will be in stock next. It was initially priced at $19.95. Amazon hasn’t announced when – or if – new buttons will be available.
