The HL 1200 is a high-powered headlamp available through an exclusive 75% off offer at 1Tac.com. Find out if the flashlight is worth the price today in our HL 1200 review.
What is the HL 1200?
The HL 1200 is a headlamp sold online through survival gear retailer 1Tac.com. The headlamp promises to be “your best choice for hiking, climbing or seeing your way through a disaster situation.”
The headlamp comes equipped with a 1200 Lumen Cree LED bulb (which is where the name HL 1200 comes from).
Are headlamps really that important in a survival situation? 1Tac.com actually says that “buying a super powerful headlamp is the #1 survival solution in a crisis”. So yes, in the eyes of 1Tac.com, headlamps are very important.
Let’s take a look at some of the features on this lamp to help you decide if it’s worth your money.
HL 1200 Features
The HL 1200 comes with all of the following features:
-3 way adjustable headband
-Rubber-covered battery box (located at the back of the lamp, behind your hand)
-Ultra-Bright Cree XM-L2 1200 lumen bulb
-3 modes (strobe, high, or medium)
-Zooms from 1x to 200x
-Concentrated convex lens
-Rotating lamp, available (can be rotated to face straight forward or 90 degrees straight down)
-Made from aircraft-grade aluminum
Because of all these features, the HL 1200 isn’t just for survival situations. The manufacturer recommends using it in all sorts of outdoor and indoor environments – whether your power goes out at home, you’re camping outside, or you’re trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world, there are plenty of good uses for a flashlight.

HL 1200 Pricing
As we mentioned at the top, 1Tac.com is selling the headlamp at a 75% discount – at least, that’s what they claim.
1Tac.com states that this headlamp normally sells for $279.80. But just because they’re nice people (I guess?), they’re decided to sell the headlamps for $69.95 each. You also get free shipping.
In reality, we couldn’t find any evidence that the HL 1200 ever sold for $279.80. That high price range is typically only reserved for the heaviest of heavy-duty headlamps. Most people cannot afford to spend nearly $300 on a headlamp – especially a medium-budget option headlamp like the HL 1200.
In any case, here’s how pricing works out:
-1 Lamp: $69.95
-2 Lamps: $125.90
-3 Lamps: $179.97
-5 Lamps: $279.75
-10 Lamps: $459.50
After you buy 10 headlamps, the price per lamp never drops below $45.95 per lamp.
You can currently only buy the HL 1200 using the online ordering form at 1Tac.com, which has HTTPS encryption and accepts payments through all major credit cards.
HL 1200 Refund Policy
1Tac.com has a very poor refund policy. No refunds will be given on items that are opened or used.
In order to qualify for a refund, your headlamp needs to be received by customer service within 30 days of delivery with an RMA number visible on the packaging. The lamp needs to be in new, unopened, and unused condition. Even if you do meet these strict refund requirements, shipping costs will be deducted from your refund amount.
Typically, manufacturers have a more customer-friendly refund policy than what we see on the HL 1200.
About 1Tac.com

You can contact the company by phone at 877-616-3515 or by email at [email protected].
In addition to the HL 1200, 1Tac sells tactical lights, tactical kits, and tactical accessories – so it makes sense that they also offer a tactical headlamp.
Should You Buy the HL 1200 Headlamp?
Priced at around $70 per lamp, the HL 1200 is a medium-priced headlamp with few reviews posted online. The lamp appears to work as advertised to give you a light source on your head – something that’s very valuable in survival, camping, or outdoor situations.
That being said, 1Tac’s refund policy doesn’t give us much confidence in the quality of the headlamp. The company will refuse to give you a refund if your product has been opened or used – even if it’s effectively in brand new condition. Refunds are only given on unopened boxes.
Typically, manufacturers have more confidence in their products than that.
If the weird refund policy doesn’t bother you, then the HL 1200 headlamp is available to order from 1Tac.com today.
