Is The FireKable Paracord Worth It?

The FireKable Paracord is a survival bracelet containing a concealed ferro rod and striker. The makers of FireKable Paracord encourage you to wear the bracelet while camping or in a survival situation. Here’s our review.

What is the FireKable Paracord?

The FireKable Paracord is a paracord bracelet designed to fit comfortably around your wrist.

At first glance, that bracelet appears just like any other paracord bracelet. The main difference, however, is that this bracelet contains a concealed ferro rod and striker tucked neatly inside. The ferro rod and striker can be used to start a powerful fire: the rod strikes at over 3,000 degrees and creates a flurry of sparks you can use to light kindling.

The manufacturer of FireKable Paracord, Survival Life, has designed the bracelet to be rot and mildew resistant, which means the ferro rod should last for thousands of strikes with proper use.

Survival Life also calls the FireKable Paracord the “ultimate survival tool” (much like tactical flashlights are praised). Not only does the bracelet give you the tools you need to start a potentially lifesaving fire, but it also gives you over 80 feet of usable cordage (rope). The bracelet contains multiple interweaving cords that add up to over 80 feet of length – which is about the same length we’ve seen with other paracord bracelets.

Is the FireKable Paracord really the ultimate “EDC” (everyday carry) tool? Keep reading to find out more.

FireKable Paracord Pricing

The FireKable Paracord is advertised as “free” on the official company website. Instead of paying a retail price for the bracelet, you just pay $6.95 for “shipping and handling”.

That price also includes a free Everstryke match, which is a fire-starter device sold by the same manufacturer. The flat $6.95 shipping rate covers orders to all of the United States.

All purchases come with two extra digital bonuses, including a downloadable eBook called Ultimate Survival Skills and a free survival course. Both these items are delivered to your email inbox in downloadable format after you confirm your purchase.

Who Makes the FireKable Paracord?

The FireKable Paracord is made by a company named Survival Life. That company is associated with something called the Family Protection Association, or FPA, which requires a monthly payment in order to join. That group focuses on educating its members on the latest survival techniques and other tactics to keep you – and your family – safe from harm.

Membership costs $20 a month or $100 a year.

Survival Life is based in Austin, Texas. The company maintains an active survival blog online where they discuss new survival tactics and strategies – like “10 Items to Help You Survive When You’re Alone in the Wilderness” and “DIY Survival Candles: The Olive Oil Lamp.”

Should You Add the FireKable Paracord to your EDC?

Your everyday carry (EDC) items could be the difference between life and death. Whether you’re in a survival situation or you just like to be prepared, the FireKable Paracord is a cheap and easy way to make yourself a little bit safer when you’re on-the-go or in the wilderness.

The cable hides a ferro rod and striker, giving you enough tools to start a fire. You’ll need some basic fire-making ability to take advantage of these tools, so don’t expect to immediately get a roaring flame right after a strike. However, Survival Life does claim that it will last for one thousand uses. You also get 80 feet of usable cordage.

Paracord bracelets aren’t a new invention. But Survival Life has added a ferro rod and striker to their paracord bracelet, which means you can use it to start a fire and make rope. If you’re the type of person who likes to be prepared for the unexpected, then the FireKable Paracord may be the right survival item for you.
